20 years of ISA BTP
The Aquitaine Institute for Building and Civil Engineering (ISA-BTP) celebrates its 20th anniversary and plans an additional building for 2019.
ISA-BTP is a State engineering school within the University of Pau and Pays de l'Adour, located on the Arlonova Technology Park in Anglet. Accredited by the Commission for Engineering Diplomas (CTI), the school trains some fifty engineers each year in the construction or civil engineering sector. The five-year training course includes a year abroad.
On 10 November 2016, the school celebrated its 20th anniversary by organising a business forum and round tables based on the theme of the construction industry of tomorrow. Twenty companies were represented and the school’s 230 students were thus able to meet with the alumni manning the stands. According to the school, 70% of students find employment after graduating.
Although ISA-BTP trains fifty engineers a year today, ‘’the aim is to reach 80 students a year’’, declared Gilles Pijaudier-Cabot, the school’s Dean. This should be achievable thanks to the construction of a new building with rooms dedicated to the four pillars of the school: training, research, innovation and business relations. This new building will be available for the pupils to use at the beginning of 2019.
