Heading for Créathon Biom’impact Pays Basque!
Créathon Biom’impact Pays Basque 2022 will take place in Anglet on 16 and 17 November. The programme, drawn up by Ceebios and Makesense, in collaboration with the Communauté Pays Basque, will bring together around one hundred students to look at the value of biomimicry.
Creating business projects that take inspiration from the living world, that’s what this conference is all about. Créathon Biom’impact Pays Basque will take place in Anglet on 16 and 17 November. Its over-riding principle is to discover new and innovative tools in biomimicry that can be used for social innovation.
By combining biomimicry and social entrepreneurship in this way, a hundred students will be setting out to find innovative and impactful solutions to prepare for the world of tomorrow.
A two-in-one event
Créathon Biom’impact Pays Basque, organised by Makesense, Ceebios and the Communauté Pays Basque, will have two highlights:
→ The Launch evening on 16 November with a debate on urgent local issues and ways to act, for those taking part in Créathon Biom’impact Pays Basque.
This will be followed by an ‘inspiring lecture’ open to all by an expert in biomimicry: Christophe Goupil, physician and Professor at the University of Paris and Deputy Director of the Inter-Disciplinary Laboratory of the Energies of Tomorrow. He will explain how the way we observe the living world can serve societal innovation.
→ Créathon Biom’impact on 17 November: during this day of innovation, teams will design an innovative project in response to a local environmental issue. The objective is to produce impactful projects inspired by nature.
Almost 90 students from the ISA BTP, Cantau High School, the Pays Basque School of Art and the Slide Sports Master degree will come together for a day to explore the theme suggested by the Communauté Pays Basque: ‘Made in Pays Basque: what local solutions can we find?’
The students will then go off to explore the living world in search of innovative strategies.
They will generate bio-inspired concepts to meet their challenge, select the final concept, then reflect together on the stages of the business project – and with a pitch!
During the lunch break, start-ups and laboratories will also come to pitch and to encourage these young people.
Purenat, Arrosia, Scale, Outercraft, Arkitturia as well as Nobatek Inef 4 and the holder of the Manta Chair have already confirmed they will attend.
Créathon Biom’impact Pays Basque, practical info
Launch evening on Wednesday [AC1] 16 November at ISA LAB, 55 rue de Mirambeau, Anglet: 6 p.m. discussion for students taking part in the Créathon the following day, and 7 p.m. talk by Christophe Goupil, expert in biomimicry. Innovation day for students of the ISA BTP, Cantau High School, the Pays Basque School of Art and the Slide Sports Master degree on Friday 17 November from 9 am to 6.30 pm at the Arkinova business generator at 73, Rue de Mirambeau, Anglet.
United efforts
The Ceebios expertise and study centre is accelerating the ecological transition through biomimicry by bringing together a network of experts and developing resources that are essential for the academic, institutional and private sectors to take ownership of the biomimicry approach.
The Makesense organisation is supporting committed young people, passionate entrepreneurs and visionary organisations to solve the challenges of the 21st century. At this event, they will be joined by the Communauté Pays Basque, engaged via its Territory Project and its climate plan in response to the climate challenge.
This event will also benefit from the support of players in the local ecosystem. Educational specialists from partner establishments, and researchers already well-known in this field, will therefore be present and ready to support the students in their thinking as much as they can.

Créer des projets entrepreneuriaux en s’inspirant du vivant, c’est l’enjeu du Créathon Biom’impact Pays Basque qui se déroulera à Anglet les 16 et 17 novembre prochains. Son credo ? Proposer la découverte d’outils innovants du biomimétisme au service de l’innovation sociétale.
En mêlant ainsi biomimétisme et entrepreneuriat social, il s’agira pour une centaine d’étudiants d’initier des solutions innovantes à impact afin de préparer le monde de demain.
Un évènement deux en un
Le Créathon Biom’impact Pays Basque organisé par Makesense, Ceebios et la Communauté Pays Basque, comptera deux temps forts :
→ Soirée de lancement le 16 novembre avec un débat sur les urgences locales et les moyens d’actions, destiné aux participants du Créathon Biom’impact Pays Basque.
Il sera suivi d’une « conférence inspirante » ouverte à tous en présence d’un expert du biomimétisme : Christophe Goupil, physicien, professeur à l’Université de Paris et directeur-adjoint du Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire des Energies de Demain. Il exposera la manière dont l’observation du vivant peut servir l’innovation sociétale.
→ Créathon Biom’impact le 17 novembre : lors de cette journée d’innovation, des équipes concevront un projet innovant répondant à une problématique environnementale locale. Objectif : faire émerger des projets à impact bio-inspirés.
Près de 90 étudiants de l’ISA BTP, du lycée Cantau, de l’Ecole supérieure d’art Pays Basque et du Master Sport de Glisse seront réunis sur une journée pour explorer le thème proposé par la Communauté Pays Basque : « Made in Pays Basque : quelles solutions locales ? ».
Les étudiants partiront ensuite à l'exploration du vivant à la recherche de stratégies innovantes.
Ils génèreront des concepts bio-inspirés pour répondre à leur défi, sélectionneront le concept final, puis réfléchiront ensemble aux étapes du projet entrepreneurial - avec un pitch !
À noter qu’au cours de cette rencontre, lors du déjeuner, des start-up et des laboratoires viendront également pitcher et encourager ces jeunes.

Journée d’innovation en présence des étudiants de l’ISA BTP, du lycée Cantau, de l’ESAPB et du Master Sport de Glisse le vendredi 17 novembre de 9h à 18h30 au sein du générateur d’activités Arkinova situé au 73, Rue de Mirambeau, à Anglet.
Des énergies fédérées
Le Centre d’études et d’expertises Ceebios accélère la transition écologique par le biomimétisme en fédérant un réseau d’experts et en développant les ressources indispensables à l’appropriation de la démarche biomimétique par les secteurs académiques, institutionnels et privés.
L’organisation Makesense accompagne des jeunes citoyens engagés, des entrepreneurs passionnés, et des organisations visionnaires pour résoudre les défis du 21e siècle. Dans le cadre de cet événement, ils seront aux côtés de la Communauté Pays Basque engagée via son Projet de territoire et son plan climat à relever le défi climatique.
Cet événement bénéficiera également du soutien d’acteurs de l’écosystème local. Ainsi, des référents pédagogiques des établissements partenaires, ou encore des chercheurs déjà reconnus dans la thématique seront présents et mobilisés afin d'accompagner au mieux les étudiants dans leur réflexion.
