New facilities at the Arkinova Activity Generator
A digital modelling room with three workstations, a 3D scanner, a wired 3D printer and a multicolour 3D powder printer are now available for use by the Arkinova technopolitan site.
“The idea is to offer tools to which those involved in construction and sustainable development do not necessarily have access. We have chosen appropriate equipment which complements those of the Arkinova ecosystem, namely the NOBATEK/INEF4 technology resource centre, the Lycée Cantau, the Fédération Compagnonnique des Métiers du Bâtiment and the ISA BTP engineering college” explained Marie-Agnès Barrière, project manager in charge of the Activity Generator at the Arkinova technopolitan site.
It was in June that this digital modelling room was created and equipped. Aimed at three target users – the residents at the Activity Generator, stakeholders in the Arkinova site, and businesses which request it - this space and its equipment will not be free to access and a price list will soon be published. Support from an engineer from the NOBATEK/INEF4 technology resource centre will be offered for the use of these machines.
The digital modelling room includes three workstations equipped with business-specific software programs as well as:
• A 3D scanner (FARO Focus3D X 130 HDR model) which is transportable and which allows facades and complex structures to be rapidly and directly plotted. 3D digital data can be imported into standard software solutions for architecture, civil engineering, construction and industrial manufacturing.
• A wired 3D printer with a double printing head (3DSystems CubePro model) offering professional quality.
• A multicolour 3D powder printer (Kallisto Projet x 60 series model) allowing demonstration prototypes to be produced for architecture or mechanical engineering.
