Two lecturer-researchers from UPPA at the University Institute of France
Gilles Pijaudier-Cabot and David Grégoire from the University of Pau and the Pays de l’Adour have been selected by the University Institute of France (IUF), a prestigious institution which brings together the best French lecturer-researchers.
The IUF was created in 1991, with the aim of promoting the development of high-level research in universities and boosting interdisciplinarity. The IUF has around one hundred members selected by an international jury for the exceptional quality of their research.
Gilles Pijaudier-Cabot, a university professor and also director of the ISA-BTP engineering school (until 2 October) is a specialist in geo-mechanics. He was a junior member of the University Institute of France and will join the senior ranks in 2017. David Grégoire will become a junior member in 2017. He is a senior lecturer at UPPA, and an expert in the mechanics and physics of porous media.
