3D printing of Anglet town centre at Arkinova
The Anglet Fellowship Federation of Trade Builders created a model of the town centre for the visually impaired. It was printed in 3D at the Arkinova Business Generator.
This model was presented in the framework of the second edition of the Histoire de Regards [Way of Looking] festival, which was held in Anglet in late February. Histoire de Regards is a video contest on the theme of handicap in the fields of work, sport and the arts. The project for this model of Anglet town centre, intended for a visually-impaired public, provided an opportunity for discussion between participants and trainers of the fellowship of trade builders, which is based in the Arkinova Technology Park.
Trainers in Computer Assisted Design (CAD) modelled the buildings and town networks. The head of works management training then worked with Maxime Comminges, an engineer from the NOBATEK/INEF4 centre who assists users of the digital modelling room at the Arkinova Business Generator, where the model was printed. Trainers in woodwork, carpentry and painting completed the project.
The digital modelling room of the Arkinova Business Generator provides three work stations equipped with profession-based software, a portable 3D scanner, a plastic filament 3D printer and a multi-colour powder-based 3D printer. Open to residents of the Business Generator, Arkinova stakeholders and companies on request, this area requires the support of the Arkinova Business Generator teams.
