The CREAHd opens an office at Arkinova

The new man in charge of development for south Aquitaine at this regional centre for sustainable construction and development, Benjamin Leroux, has been based at the Arkinova business generator since February.

Created in 2006, the CREAHd (the acronym means Sustainable Construction, Resources, Environment, Development and Housing) – is an organisation with 150 members in the area it currently covers (its scope is the former Aquitaine region), and they include construction and public works companies, architects and urban planners, research centres and laboratories, land and property developers, local authorities and training organisations.

Benjamin Leroux's task is to "develop the cluster in the south Aquitaine area by promoting the members, facilitating contacts and networking, optimising the sharing of information and supporting projects." In short, his job is to boost the sector, mirroring the actions undertaken by the Basque Country Urban Authority and the Basque Country Technology Park on the Arkinova site. Benjamin Leroux divides his time between the Arkinova business generator and the Domolandes technology cluster at Saint-Geours-de-Maremne.

An engineer who graduated from Ecole Centrale Paris, Benjamin Leroux began his career working for general construction contractors and an engineering consultancy. With his creation in 2009 of BatiEthic, a firm specialising in eco-friendly insulation and his participation in the creation of an innovative process for spraying hempcrete, Benjamin Leroux has built up a high level of expertise in eco-construction and innovation. He is therefore perfectly qualified to support and accredit innovative projects.
