Baitykool stakeholders present at Arkinova
BaityKool, the French eco-friendly, solar house project which won third prize at the “Solar Decathlon Middle-East Dubai-2018” international competition, will be presented to the stakeholders who contributed to the innovative project at the Arkinova Business Generator in Anglet on 8 March 2019.
Solar Decathlon Middle-East Dubaï-2018 brought together fifteen universities from around the world from 14 to 29 November 2018. The teams had 10 days to build a highly innovative, sustainable, solar house prototype of 90m2 on site in Dubai. Baitykool, the only French project in the competition, finished on the podium and was awarded four prizes, including the prize for sustainable construction.
The Baitykool project was supported by the University of Bordeaux in association with some forty public and private-sector partners, including the Nobatek/INEF4 Technology Resource Centre at the Arkinova Technology Park. Local businesses also took part in the project, such as Bayonne-based Etchart Group and Arkiturria, a company located at the Arkinova site in Anglet.
The Baitykool project will be presented during a conference called “Which building envelopes for extremely hot climates?” held at the Business Generator on Friday 8 March from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The conference will feature Alain Sempey and Philippe Lagière, both professors at the University of Bordeaux/I2M, and Lola Flohic, an ENSAPBx architecture school graduate. The project’s industrial partners, like Bertrand Canigiani (Arkiturria), Benoit Lambert (Lerelais-Metisse) or the STEICO group, will provide feedback on the adventure.
