Discussing traditional and modern building technologies
The second edition of the <R>EVOLUTION conference will be held at the Arkinova Business Generator on 19 November. The day will bring together regional and national members of the construction industry and will be discussing whether technological innovations and traditional materials can coexist.
The day is entitled "Low Tech vs High Tech – reconciliation by buildings?” and will be made up of lectures, round table discussions and demonstrations. It has been organised by the Basque Country Urban Authority and Nobatek/INEF4, the Institute for the Energy and Environmental Transition of Buildings located on the Arkinova site in Anglet.
The event is aimed at architects and design offices, construction companies, training centres, local authorities and innovative start-ups and will feature three round table discussions on the topics: "Building envelopes as a place for energy optimisation experimentation", "The construction system as a vehicle for design: towards an industrialisation of processes" and “From designer to builder: does training need to be reinvented?".
There will also be prototype demonstrations, which will hopefully spark discussions about new construction processes and how they would be developed. The first edition of the <R>EVOLUTION conference called "R-Evolution - Does Design & Construction synergy need to be reinvented?” brought together some one hundred people from the construction industry in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Sponsored by architect Francesco Cingolani, the first edition was held at the Arkinova Business Generator in June 2018.
