ISA BTP welcomes 250 international researchers
The conference of the International Association of Fracture Mechanics for Concrete and Concrete Structures (IA -FraMCoS) has been held on the Nive Campus in Bayonne. The three-yearly event was organised by the Aquitaine Higher Institute for Building and Public Works (ISA BTP).
The aim of the conference organised by ISA BTP – the national engineering school of the University of Pau and Pays de l'Adour located at the Arkinova in Anglet - and by the University of Glasgow, is to share the latest advances in the description of concrete and innovative cement-based material fracture.
250 researchers from some thirty countries met in Bayonne for three days on the topic of “applications aiming for better safety and resistance assessment of buildings and civil engineering structures using a more modern approach to mechanics, including the description of materials fracture”.
The tenth edition of this conference, which is held every three years, was organised under the aegis of the IA-FraMCoS International Association created in 1991 and chaired by par Gilles Pijaudier-Cabot, a professor at the UPPA since 2016. Over two hundred papers were presented in Bayonne and the scientific articles have been referenced in scientific data bases and are freely accessible on the FraMCoS Association’s website.
