Nobatek is becoming a SCIC
During its ordinary and extraordinary general meeting on 25 November 2016, Nobatek officially become a cooperative enterprise in the collective interest (SCIC). Known as Nobatek/INEF4, the SCIC will take effect from 1 January 2016 and include almost sixty members.
'A cooperative enterprise is a collaborative model of economic development where members create and manage a shared project together. The aim of this transformation is to make Nobatek/INEF4 a shared research centre, as a model for open innovation. Nobatek's objectives are still to encourage collaborative innovation and to create ties between research and the world of construction companies', explains Nobatek/INEF4's managing director Jacques Tortos.
Created in 2004, Nobatek moved into an eco-friendly building at the Arkinova technology park in 2009. Bringing together 56 employees across the two sites at Anglet and Talence, Nobatek/INEF4 is developing its research applied to innovative services in the areas of sustainable planning, redevelopment, and construction.
Awarded the status of 'technological resources centre' by the Ministry of Research in 2007, Nobatek has been selected for a Future Investments program to run Inef4, one of its six national excellence institutes, specialised in sustainable construction.
