Which direction for sustainable construction in Nouvelle-Aquitaine?
Faced with the challenges of energy transition and digital technology, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, in association with all stakeholders in the building and public works sector, has launched its roadmap for the sustainable construction sector. The first meeting took place on 10 December at the regional council chambers in Bordeaux.
This consultation was launched by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine regional council to discuss the construction of the future. The goal is to consider the user and the environment in the building process, but also to work alongside the sector in facing the challenges of energy transition and digital technology. In Nouvelle-Aquitaine, according to regional construction economic bodies, the construction sector included 57,125 institutions and 108,659 employees in 2018.
At the roadmap launch event, five model construction projects were presented and an exhibition of innovative companies was held at the regional council chambers. The Technological Resource Centre, NOBATEK/INEF4, at the Arkinova Technology Park, was itself an exhibitor. The centre presented Immersite, a participative design tool for planning and construction projects.
To enable co-construction in promoting this roadmap, five consultation workshops will be held in 2019 on the following themes:
- Environmental and energy efficiency of the construction.
- How can construction firms win new markets?
- How can the circular economy be developed in the building and public works sector?
- How can we innovate in the sustainable construction sector?
- Employment and skills in the construction sector.
The Arkinova Business Generator will host one of these workshops on 14 February 2019. The themes of environmental and energy efficiency in construction and innovation in the sustainable construction sector will be at the heart of the discussions.
