A thermal studies and diagnostics specialist at the Business Generator
Sandra Ripeau is a thermal engineer specialising in the passive house who based herself at the Arkinova Technology Park to develop the Carbone 64 design office. She is focusing in particular on a European energy diagnostics project for rail and bus stations in south-west Europe.
“I took over Carbone 64, the design office where I worked, and moved into offices in the Arkinova Business Generator at the beginning of April. I wanted to join a sustainable construction network of businesses and be at the heart of this sector” Sandra Ripeau explained. Carbone 64 carries out thermal analyses for construction projects and renovations of houses, apartment buildings and tertiary buildings.
“We also design passive houses and we have constructed the first passive house in Aquitaine to receive certification, in Arcangues. I have also certified three other passive houses with different construction techniques in south-west France” Sandra Ripeau added. Apassive house (or a very low energy house) is virtually self-sufficient for its heating requirements and relies solely on solar and metabolic energies (residents, electrical appliances, lighting). Thanks to good insulation, ventilation and water-tightness, the building is very comfortable both in winter and summer.
It was also in order to work for the European SUDOE STOP CO2 project that Sandra Ripeau joined the Arkinova Technology Park: “Along with other businesses based in the region, but also in Spain and Portugal, I was awarded a European project to carry out analyses for several rail and bus stations in Europe using digital 3D digital modelling”. The aim of this project is to find solutions to reduce the energy bills and environmental impact of these buildings.
