Companies of the Basque Country, take the Mobility Challenge
The 8th edition of this inter-company challenge will take place from 16 to 22 September. It is an opportunity for companies in the Basque Country and their employees to test an alternative to solo car use and explore other commuting solutions.
As an action to raise awareness and promote alternatives to solo car use, the Mobility Challenge aims to encourage employees to consider alternative modes of transport to solo car use for their commute: cycling, walking, public transport, working from home, carpooling, etc.
In the form of an inter-company challenge, the Mobility Challenge is open to all public, private or associative institutions of any size in the Basque Country. Registration is open until 16 September at www.challengedelamobilite.com
How does the Mobility Challenge work for companies?
- Register your company on www.challengedelamobilite.com
- Choose a challenge date between September 16 - 22.
- Invite employees to take part thanks to the sign-up code provided.
- Accompany the establishment and the employees: a breakfast for participating employees, on-site picnic to avoid journeys between 12 - 2pm, internal challenge between services, electric bike test...
- The challenge rewards the participation of employees: the sites with the highest participation rate will win.
- Participate in the awards ceremony for the Basque Country mobility challenge.
The mobility challenge also allows an evaluation of the way employees commute and the effects of a mobility plan. It also promotes good mobility practices, whether by the employees themselves or institutions that facilitate the usage of alternatives.
The number of trips made in the area of the Basque Country Urban Authority is growing and more than 80% of employees go to work by car, most often alone (solo car use). The Basque Country Urban Authority and its partners wish to change habits among company employees, in order to provide a practical response to problems such as the lack of available parking, and especially to problems of environmental awareness.
