Fashion 2.0
Amélie Devaux and Maud Tyrbas are developing a platform called modames.com, which offers a personalised clothing design and delivery service, guided by a stylist’s recommendations.
“The client will fill out an online form with their measurements, but also information about their style, and can even include a photo of themselves” explain Amélie Devaux and Maud Tyrbas. Then, a stylist will make a clothing style diagnostic for the client, and the Modames team will send a selection of products making up a tailored outfit.
These products will be ready-to-wear items, as well as accessories. The idea is to deliver five articles to make up a full outfit. The client will then have a week to decide what they want to buy or return. As well as the administration of the platform, these two young women will also be taking care of managing logistics: receiving the products from the manufacturers, preparing packages for clients, and any returns.
Around fifty French or international brands have voiced interest in the modames.com concept. “The brands in question are quite difficult to find and there are also ethical brands or designer brands. For the moment, we only have affordable luxury women’s ready-to-wear clothing,” explain Amélie Devaux and Maud Tyrbas.
The two partners have created their company and set up shop in the Izarbel Technology Park. Having skills in e-commerce and marketing, they learnt HTML coding and develop the site themselves, but outsource payment methods and data security. Benefitting from the support of French Tech thanks to a grant from the Public Investment Bank, and as prize-winners of the Adour Entreprendre network, Amélie Devaux and Maud Tyrbas plan on launching their bilingual French/English website by April 2017.
