The Fleeti R&D platform at Izarbel
Fleeti is a solution for optimising the management of fleets of vehicles, used in Africa by Iban Olçomendy and his team. Its IT development was partly designed on the Izarbel technology park at Bidart.
Iban Olçomendy has been established in Senegal for four years, and first created a company for the maintenance of fleet vehicles before launching Fleeti in August. This solution combines embedded systems, data analysis & processing to optimise the management of fleets of vehicles. It’s a platform in SaaS mode, developed between Africa and Izarbel, offering services to monitor costs, control fuel use, and for geo-tracking, planning and administration.
“Thanks to sensors installed in professional vehicles, we collect data on movements for analysis and processing. The aim is to enable companies to make savings on their movements, equipment and fuel. Fleeti also makes it possible to secure vehicles against theft and to improve driving behaviour. Finally, the tool strives to reduce the environmental impact by optimising movements, reducing fuel consumption and promoting car-sharing,” explains Iban Olçomendy.
Although Fleeti was launched only recently, it already has some thirty customers in Senegal, each with a fleet of between 10 and 500 vehicles as well as about ten customers on the island of Mauritius. Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana will be Fleeti’s next target markets from January 2021. “Africa is a continent with huge potential,” says Iban Olçomendy, who is making increasingly frequent trips between Dakar and the Pays Basque to develop Fleeti as well as to revisit his home town of Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port.
