Basque Country Digital Cluster autumn gathering
The association, which brings together companies in the digital sector in the Basque country and Pays de l'Adour, had an informal meeting in Bidart on 20 September.
The Basque Country Digital Cluster invited its members to attend a friendly get-together in the central square of Bidart during the town's Autumn Festival. Basque Country Digital brings together some sixty companies specialised in creating software and added-value digital services. Created in February 2015 at the Izarbel Technology Park, the cluster has recently broadened its scope to encompass the entire Basque Country and Pays de l'Adour with a regional support mission to develop employment and skills in this area.
During this informal meeting, a summary of the association's activities was presented by Marie Jo Burucoa, President of the Basque Digital Cluster since April 2018 and Associate Director of Novaldi, a company based at the Izarbel Technology park. In 2018, the cluster's activities included running a training support programme with 60 events and activities, helping six companies obtain the "Responsible Digital Enterprise" label, human resources initiatives through a partnership with Pôle Emploi (French employment centre) and leading discussions in the form of working groups devoted to specific topics. The association plans to continue all these projects in the coming year.
