The “E-Marger” electronic registration solution used at ESTIA
Launched by Stéphane Kreckelbergh and his company Lekooa, the E-Marger application allows you to register pupils present by digitising the attendance sheet via their smart phone and certifying their presence via geolocation. 34 of ESTIA's rooms have been recently equipped with terminals for the use of this application.
Geolocation Beacons using “Bluetooth Low Energy” technology have been installed in ESTIA’s classrooms. Operating within a reduced area, these beacons allow the smartphones of students who have downloaded the E-Marger application to be located in a room. The application will inform the teacher of the number of students who have registered in real time. “No more need to call the register, the E-Marger application will take care of it”, said Stéphane Kreckelbergh.
Lekooa, which has been awarded the French Tech label and has developed the E-Marger application, has been based at the ESTIA Entreprendre incubator on the Izarbel Technology Park since the end of 2015. This application, which combines the internet of things and indoor geolocation processes, is aimed at the training establishment and industrial site market. “It’s a solution which saves a great deal of time” explains Stéphane Kreckelbergh. A Doctor of Physics and lecturer/researcher at ESTIA, he drew on his own experience as a teacher when designing the E-Marger application.
Recently, the E-Marger application received the approval of FAFIEC, the OPCA (Accredited Funds Collection Body) funding professional training for the digital professions. “Use of the application is therefore authorised for validating the presence of the public on training courses and therefore guaranteeing the funding of these courses” Stéphane Kreckelbergh explained. Local and regional institutions have already displayed interest and its roll-out at ESTIA will be an interesting test for the commercial development of the solution.
