Wild Code School inauguration
The Wild Code School, which has been operating at the Izarbel site in Bidart for some months now, trains IT developers in three to five months, using innovative learning methods. On 14 June, it held an official launch event.
“The Wild Code School opened its 10th training site at the Izarbel Technology Park in Bidart to be closer to the regions and work with local structures,” explained manager Sophie Lalanne at the inauguration of the new site on 14 June. The Wild Code School team, which is based in the ESTIA 2 building in Bidart, took advantage of the event to introduce its first set of graduates.
“It’s a 42 school for the regions,” said Sylvie, Durruty, vice-president of the Pays Basque Urban Community in charge of economic development and innovation. “The Wild Code School offers practical technical training for operational roles,” added Marie-Jo Burucoa, president of the Basque Country Digital Cluster.
The initial intake of eight students began their three months of training last April. During the launch event, these already-active developers showcased their knowledge in the form of two applications: a tool to enable collaborative working among the school’s students and another to facilitate education-related communication between parents, education staff and teachers.
The next Wild Code School training session will take place over the three summer months, with a five-month session due to start in September. Applications for both sessions are currently being accepted. Please note that some training sessions are being offered within the framework of “collective operational preparedness for employment”, in response to needs identified by FAFIEC, the approved joint commission for collective training in digital occupations.
