The PopVox application now in use in Biarritz
This application, aimed at giving the public a say, is developed by Setavoo, a company based at the Izarbel Technology Park. In addition to PopVox, Setavoo develops the InfoPlages application which is also used in Biarritz.
Designed to report a malfunction, write a message or ask a question, the PopVox application is presented as ‘a public platform that makes it easier to communicate with the town’s services and local representatives and find out about local life’.
Now in service in Biarritz, PopVox can be accessed via the Internet or a mobile application and is downloadable free of charge. PopVox is developed by Setavoo; a start-up company launched at the Izarbel Technology Park in December 2014.
Setavoo also created the InfoPlages (BeachInfo) application, the town of Biarritz being one of the first to introduce it. This year, a new version of ‘Biarritz InfoPlages’ has been introduced notably with more room for visuals. ‘Biarritz InfoPlages’ is now offered as a real guide for the town’s seven beaches.
The ‘Biarritz InfoPlages’ application retains its key features of providing information in real time on the quality of bathing water along with services available and practical information for every beach. The provision of meteorological data (weather, wind factor, UV index and temperature) along with marine data (tides, wave, and coefficient) will be increased to 4 or 5 days.
The interactive nature of these Setavoo-designed applications remains unchanged, so that the public can, for example, report the appearance of jellyfish or the presence of any other objects spotted on the beach.
