The Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and its partners have issued a call for expressions of interest from start-ups seeking support for upcoming international events in the tech domain. On the programme: Tel Aviv, Lisbon, Helsinki and Las Vegas.

During the last CES – the unmissable international show in Las Vegas devoted to innovation in technology and electronics – 25 start-ups attended as exhibitors and 15 as trade visitors, thanks to support from the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. The delegation returned with a healthy number of contacts and prospects for future business development, encouraging the organisers to repeat the exercise and include three other similar events.

On 31 May, representatives of the regional committee of French Tech Bordeaux were welcomed to Izarbel Technology Park for a presentation on the joint activities planned for these four international events. For each show, the region’s team explained the various options for which support is available: exhibiting as part of a Nouvelle-Aquitaine stand, exhibiting on an individual stand, attending as a visitor. Note that all three options are not available for every event and that the support offered must be backed up by rigorous preparation for the event and networking via the French Tech structure.

·       DLD, Tel Aviv, 3–8 September 2018

More than just a business event, DLD is a festival that runs throughout the city of Tel Aviv, featuring a host of meet-ups, pitch parties, challenges set by big international companies and speed-dating. With more than 20,000 participants from all over the world, DLD is a true gateway to the Israeli innovation network. Please note that declarations of interest from the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region must be made before 15 June.

·       Web Summit, Lisbon, 5–8 November 2018

The Web Summit in Lisbon is nicknamed “Davos for Geeks”, thanks to its very high-level conferences. With 60,000 visitors, it is Europe’s principal tech event and attracts numerous investors and media.

·       Slush, Helsinki, 4–5 December 2018

Half-conference, half-festival, Slush welcomed more than 17,000 participants to the last event. It differentiates itself by its determination to remain small-scale and very high-quality.

·       CES, Las Vegas, 8–11 January 2019

With 200,000 visitors, 3,000 exhibitors and representatives of 6,500 media, CES in Las Vegas is where the entire electronics world comes together every year. More than 20,000 new products are launched and all the big tech names are there, as are the decision-makers from the big international groups. Eureka Park is an incomparable showcase for start-ups in the early stages of maturity. Far from being an exclusively B2C event, as its name might suggest, CES Las Vegas offers plenty of opportunities to do business in markets all over the world – including, of course, French markets, which are very well represented at this event.
