Feedback from the Basque Country Digital Cluster Annual General Meeting.
The Basque Country Digital Cluster held its AGM on Thursday 15 March in Izarbel. In particular, the extension of its missions to the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department and the southern Landes area was enacted.
This non-profit organisation, which brings together companies specialised in software publishing or added-value digital projects, began its AGM with the presentation of a new mission. The Basque Country Digital Cluster has undertaken the task, over a three-year period, of supporting the growth of employment and skills on a regional scale.
This support programme (ADEC) was launched in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in September 2017, in association with the French State, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Regional Council and five digital clusters, including that of the Basque Country. The Basque Country cluster now has the role of providing information on vocational training funded by the FAFIEC, the accredited fund-collecting agency for digital professions. This mission covers the whole of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department and the southern Landes region.
In order to align its identity with its new catchment area, the organisation has been renamed ‘Digital Basque Country - Basque Country & Pays de l’Adour Digital Cluster’. In addition, Camille Seve, human resources task officer, has been designated to assist the support programme, and the newly-launched training platform of the cluster will serve as one of the programme tools.
The AGM of 15 March also presented the results for 2017 in the areas of Business, Employment, Training, Communication and Pooling. 6 companies were certified ‘Responsible Digital Company’, 26 companies participated in a meeting session to create collaborative projects, 20 companies took part in digital HR interviews organised by Pôle Emploi [State employment agency] and 40 recruitments took place. The AGM also approved two new board members - Lucia Lema of the Bizkor company and Jean-Michel Mathieu from the company Exakis.
