A call for innovative projects
The sixth “Innovation Workshop” call for projects launched by the Basque Country Urban Authority proposes a global budget of €90,000. Over the first five editions of the event, the companies of the Basque Country Technology Park have been particularly outstanding.
From July 23 until September 24, companies with less than 20 employees developing an innovative product or service and based in the territory of the Basque Country Urban Authority are invited to participate in the “Innovation workshop”. Launched by the Basque Country Urban Authority, this call for projects is open to all areas of activity except the agriculture/ agrobusiness/fishing disciplines which already have dedicated schemes in place.
Conducted in partnership with ESTIA Entreprendre (the department of the ESTIA engineering school dedicated to hosting and supporting entrepreneurs and technology start-ups), the call for projects has a total endowment of €90,000 for the 3 company projects that are selected. Personalised support from ESTIA will also be provided (12 months maximum).
The previous 5 events saw almost 15 companies enter each competition. However, the territory proposed for the call for projects did not cover the whole of the Basque Country Urban, Authority. For the 2018 edition, however, this will now be the case.
It should be noted that since 2013, companies from the Basque Country Technology Park have excelled in the call for projects:
- 2017: Vracoop and Njuko (Izarbel), Wave Bumper (Technocité).
- 2016: Wikicampers and HUPI (Izarbel) with Les Laboratoires de Biarritz.
- 2015: WindowHero (Izarbel) alongside the companies Patatam, Akira Technologies and Bouées de Sauvetage (this edition awarded 4 projects).
- 2014: PRAGMA Industries (Izarbel) and HIZKIA Informatique.
- 2013: Aguila technologies (Izarbel) and the Playground agency.
