A trophy for Labo des communicants

The Izarbel-based communication agency is “Events management/ Public Relations” category winner at “Trophées de la Com Sud-Ouest’s” 7th edition.

It was for sending a Basque cake to an altitude of 38 kilometres during a marketing operation for a mall on the Basque Coast that Bidart’s ‘Labo des communicants’ won the award at “Trophées de la Com Sud-Ouest” held in Toulouse in October. “We were given the trophy one year after the operation,” attested Mathieu Rousset, member of a society of communications experts based in Izarbel. 

Thanks to ESTIA engineering school’s scientific skills, the ‘Labo des communicants’ succeeded in sending a Basque cake secured to a 4.5 cubic metre helium balloon equipped with two GPS beacons, data recorders and a tiny camera broadcasting the operation on social networks, to an altitude of 38,673 metres. The project beat 14 other selected projects in “Events management and Public Relations” category.
