A trophy for Sofia Genetics

The Company Sofia Genetics, which has a research and development hub at Izarbel, has been honoured with the award of ‘Best Overall Genomics Company’ at the ‘2020 MedTech Breakthrough Awards’ to reward the most innovative companies in the field of health. 

Created in Switzerland in 2011, the Company Sofia Genetics develops digital solutions based on an artificial intelligence technology known as SOPHiA. In April 2018, Sophia Genetics created a research and development hub on the Izarbel technopolitan site at Bidart to reinforce this artificial intelligence platform.

Last May, the startup, boasting 300 colleagues and working with almost 1000 hospitals all over the world, was nominated ‘Best Overall Genomics Company’ at the ‘2020 MedTech Breakthrough Awards’. The world-famous company was distinguished by the American organisation MedTech Breakthrough for its expertise in analysing the genome of patients in order to help clinicians diagnose them better.
