A mobility village in Izarbel on Thursday 1st June
The results of the survey on inter-company transport plans (PDIE) and alternative travel solutions to the private car will be presented in Izarbel on 1st June.
Every year more entrepreneurs and employees are drawn to the very attractive Izarbel Technology Park, while the number of students at the ESTIA engineering school is constantly growing. In the spring of 2017, the 1,700 current users of Izarbel were approached as part of a survey conducted by the Transport Syndicate for the Basque Country conurbation area. Thanks to the 440 responses collected, an assessment was carried out, allowing us to draw up a report on mobility practices and constraints for employees and students in the area.
This assessment will be presented as part of a dedicated event: the Village de Mobilité.
The Village, which will be set up on the technology park from 9 am to 3 pm, will also bring together different stakeholders in the field of mobility in order to raise awareness amongst users of eco-mobility. Among the participants will bePRAGMA Industrie to present its hydrogen bike, ADEME, Chronoplus, Txirrind’Ola, and SAFRAN Helicopter Engines to give feedback on its own company transport plan.
Fun activities based on the construction of alternative solutions and awareness raising will also be on offer through events such as:
• Les Porteurs de parole [the Spokespeople]: based on a simple, thematic question, users will be approached to share their ideas. The opinions selected during the exchange will be written on a board and displayed on a web diagram to stimulate debate amongst other passers-by.
• La Cartographie participative [Participative mapping]: the respondent is shown their home and daily journey identified on a simple map. The person is then invited to place thematic pictograms in the places where they encounter difficulties or glimpse improvements.
• Scribbing: in real time, an artist will construct a picture of the perfect eco-mobile technology park, based on the suggestions of passers-by.
• La Photo des engagements [Photo of commitments]: passers-by who so wish make a commitment which they note on a slate. This commitment is immortalised in a photograph.
The village will be based on the car park next to the Spot and will be open to Izarbel users during two key periods:
• 9 am-11 am: breakfast - press conference for presentation of the assessment at the Spot, followed by a tour of the Village with local politicians and the press.
• 12 pm-2 pm: presentation of the assessment outdoors and fun activities based on the construction of solutions and awareness raising.
