An application for the AgTech sector
PIC Digital agency is launching a platform for managing agricultural irrigation systems using a mobile application and smart objects, targeting the AgTech sector (new technologies linked to agricultural activities).
PIC Digital, one of the first companies born in the Izarbel Park, has spent a year developing this application called “Rainmaster”. It has been designed in collaboration with Otech in Puyoô (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), one of the European leaders in irrigation systems.
The Rainmaster platform connects to irrigation installations and can be accessed via internet and a mobile application. It notably allows remote control of the activation and direction of irrigation machines, definition and analysis of different parameters and also includes text message alerts.
“We are preparing for the platform to be available for different types of smart objects on digital farms, and are becoming a veritable partner of AgTech,” explains PIC Digital Manager Caroline Phillips. The umbrella term “AgTech” and the “digital farm” concept cover new technologies in connection with agricultural activities, with the aim of supporting the traditional farming sector in its digital transformation.
The application was presented during the International Agribusiness Show (SIMA) held in Paris in March last year. Over the past two years, PIC Digital agency has been diversifying and developing its complex IT projects thanks to its 10 employees and in addition to its online activity (website design and creation, software engineering etc.). This international show was an opportunity to promote their skills in software engineering.
