A day devoted to precision geo-tracking by satellite at Izarbel
On Thursday 6 December, the ESTIA engineering school is organising a day of conferences and round tables on satellite positioning systems. This event is open to students, researchers, businesses and public authorities.
This day devoted to precision geo-positioning via satellite, also known as GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System), is organised by ESTIA in association with TERIA, the French real-time centimetric geo-tracking network rolled out by the company Exagone.
Four seminars will shed light on the workings of GNSS and present:
- technological and economical stakes,
- the French GNSS system, TERIA,
- EGNOS tracking data guaranteed for critical applications in Europe,
- a presentation of GUIDE, the GNSS test laboratory for the certification of navigation systems on autonomous vehicles.
Four round tables, with contributions from the Izarbel-based companies SIG-IMAGE and AGUILA Technologies in particular, are also on the programme. The round tables will examine various applications of this tracking and navigation system of worldwide scope, such as:
- smart city & mobility (the Community of the Districts participated in this round table to present the geo-tracking applications for its free-floating bicycle service),
- precision agriculture,
- 4.0 industry / smart factory,
- ocean & environment.
The event will be moderated by Michel Ravelet, journalist and editor-in-chief of the magazine Géomètre.
