Wikicampers now available in English, Spanish and German

The peer-to-peer motor-home and camper-van rental platform launches English, Spanish and German-language versions.

“Our rental service for motor homes in France is now available on three platforms – in English, Spanish and German,” explains Marina Landais, communication manager for the start-up, which was established at the Izarbel Technology Park in 2012. “The translated versions are designed to attract overseas clients and are the first phase of our international development plan to establish ourselves more concretely in each country.”

Wikicampers is an online platform that shares peer-to-peer advertisements relating to motor homes and offers a suite of services (insurance, secure payment, rental contracts, practical advice) designed to optimise the transactions. With an offering of around 2,500 motor homes and camper vans for rent, Wikicampers’ business volume in 2017 was up 72 % on the previous year.

The Wikicampers team has now grown to 21 people, following the recruitment of multilingual colleagues proficient in the three languages. They complete the system of support for users of the platform, which went through an overhaul in 2017. This resulted in the addition of a mobile app, created with the support of the Basque Country Urban Community, within the framework of the fourth “Innovation Workshop” call for projects.
