Luxury urban bikes designed at Technocité
For three years Audrey Lefort and Thibault Halm have been developing their luxury urban bike concept. They are based at the Technocité technopolitan site and will be launching their collection this summer.
Audrey Lefort and Thibault Halm are partners in the company Coleen, and have devised and designed a single-speed bicycle with a minimalist design intended for urban use. “The geometry of the frame is inspired by that of the first dandy horses invented near the avenue de Montaigne in Paris in 1861. A geometry which, in 1941, inspired Jean Prouvé to create a bicycle for workers” stated Audrey Lefort. The carbon frames of the Coleen bikes are manufactured on the technopolitan site of Technocité in Bayonne.
The first models, “Heritage” and “Marinière”, will be launched in two limited editions of 25 models. “The leather saddle is manufactured by a French SME specialising in the manufacture of luxury accessories. The carbon frame, without any visible reinforcement, unlike the usual triangular structures, required many studies to be carried out. Each part and each nut was specially designed. It’s the added value of modern craftsmanship” explained Audrey Lefort.
It was in last April that Audrey Lefort and Thibault Halm decided to base themselves at the Technocité business incubator. “The support and assistance of Compositadour and ESTIA Entreprendre have been decisive as has been the collaboration with Pika. Our customers can even visit the place where their frame was manufactured” declared Audrey Lefort. Supported by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region and by Bpifrance, the two partners are officially launching their brand this summer. Coleen bikes will be sold via the brand’s website and also in “concept store” type shops specialising in rare products.
