Robotics to benefit logistics
PGES is based in Isère and specialises in innovative solutions in the fields of mobile robotics, image processing and 3-D image synthesis. With its base in Bayonne, PGES is developing a system of autonomous robot fleets.
Christened POOL, which stands for “PGES Object Oriented Layers”, this is a software suite for the development of control & command applications mainly used to manage the tasks of transport logistics robots in real time. Aïda Sarr and Mathieu Lacroix, respectively an electronics engineer and technician with the PGES agency in Bayonne, are taking part in the design and deployment of these robotised solutions amongst PGES customers.
“We organise the maintenance and operation of robots which provide logistics services in hospitals. We formerly worked for Robosoft at Izarbel and since PGES took over its robotics activities, we have been based at the Technocité site” explained Mathieu Lacroix. PGES is notably involved in the maintenance of the robot which cleans the exterior of the Louvre pyramid.
With five people on its sites at Meylan and Bayonne, PGES engineers have more than twenty years’ experience in all the technologies of mobile robotics. “Designing a robot requires mechanical, electronics and software expertise. This requires an overall vision and great versatility which is a unique skill,” explained Mathieu Lacroix.
