Innovation in board sports boosted by the local ecosystem

The industrial design agency Outercraft established at the Bayonne Technocité site is collaborating with the innovation centre for nautical brands of the Decathlon group based in Hendaye.

Created on the Technocité technology park in Bayonne in March 2017, the Outercraft agency offers strategy, design, engineering and prototyping services with the aim of simplifying and accelerating the design process. For the Olaian brand of the Décathlon Group whose products are designed in Hendaye, the Outercraft agency has been involved with creating surfboards. This cooperation illustrates the dynamism of the board sports sector in the Communauté Pays Basque region with an economic fabric made up of micro-businesses, SMEs and leading groups all developing common products.
