The Technocité Park hosted the 3rd edition of Bask’invest on Thursday 16 March 2017. This meeting between innovative young businesses and investors brought together some 120 members of the regional economy.

This half-day organized by ESTIA, the Bayonne Pays Basque Chamber of Commerce, and EY, welcomed around thirty innovative companies and project managers from Southern Aquitaine, and a dozen regional and national investors and financers.

Eight young businesses participated in the pitch contest, with three prizes. The Izarbel start-up company On Rewind with their sporting event broadcasting platform won the “International” prize, and will receive support for a week’s trip to the “Village by CA” in New York. The “Development” prize went to Romain Chapron and his Wave Bumper project (an anti-submersion device) based at the Technocité. The “Innovation” prize was given to Kevin Lestrade for his By The Wave project, a device to assist surfers.

The Bask’invest meetings were also an opportunity for a roundtable on the theme of “fundraising and alternatives”, as well as individual meetings between project managers and financers, represented by public and private support structures, banking establishments and venture capital companies. In the end, this third edition of Bask’invest brought together around 120 people, and was a testament to the vitality of the young, innovative businesses in the area.
