Tekniaero is now operational
Tekniaero has finished equipping its parts production centre for the aeronautics industry at the Technocité technology park and launched its business this summer.
Since January of this year, Stéphane Azcué ‘s new business has been based in 800 m² premises at the Technocité Technology Park, inside the Hegaskin building owned by the Cré@ticité mixed economy company. Christened Tekniaero, the company specialises in the production of basic parts and sub-assemblies for the aeronautics industry. Its establishment and its commissioning enhances Technocité’s ecosystem which specialises in aeronautics and advanced materials.
Substantial investment has been made and machinery was delivered this spring. Tekniaero now has eight work units for producing parts from aluminium sheets. These can be cut, bent, welded or stamped to become parts for commercial aeroplanes, private jets or military aircraft, as 100% of Tekniaero’s production is for the aeronautics industry.
In order to meet the demands of this sector, Tekniaero has taken the steps necessary to obtain the 9100 European standard which defines a quality assurance system for the aeronautics and space market and the essential certifications required by customers. The company is now operational on this basis.
“It was really during the Bourget trade fair last June that we were officially launched. We are in the commercial development phase and are receiving our first orders. Our niche is the rapid production of small parts and there was a demand which we had clearly identified. However, it’s still a difficult market due to the difficulty of becoming a subcontractor in the demanding aeronautics sector” explained Stéphane Azcué.
Six jobs were created with the launch of Tekniaero. In September, an additional post should be created and an engineer from ESTIA on an apprenticeship contract and a technician completing a vocational degree also on an apprenticeship should be joining the team. The aim is to establish a workforce of around thirty employees in the next three years.
