The training centre for drone pilots located at the Technocité Park in Bayonne has created a website for online training. The company 640 Aero has also announced the upcoming opening of four centres in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

‘This is a theoretical training platform in drone professions which provides the necessary theory to obtain the remote pilot certificate for drones, issued by the Civil Aviation Authority’ says Emmanuel Jupiter, one of the heads of the company 640 Aero, which is based in the Technocité Technology Park in Bayonne. Since 1st July 2019, a new regulation on the theoretical training of remote pilots has come into effect with, in particular, new provisions relative to the use of drones in a professional framework.

‘We have noticed a shift in our customer profile with more companies wishing to integrate the drone tool into their business. We therefore train public works professionals, surveyors and property experts and we now have remote pilots from the security and agriculture sectors,’ Emmanuel Jupiter explained. Located at the heart of the Technocité incubator since February 2015, the company 640 Aero has three permanent staff and five independent instructors.

In 2018, around 90 people attended training courses organised by 640 Productions at the Technocité Technology Park and at a second drone pilot training centre, which opened at Brive-Souillac airport in early 2018. ‘We will open four new training centres in Toulouse, Agen, Pau and Bordeaux and we hope to thus double the number of trainees,’ Emmanuel Jupiter announced.
