Employment on the rise in Izarbel

According to the results of the annual survey carried out among the companies at the Izarbel Technology Park, 1,056.6 full-time equivalent jobs were registered in 2017, a 4% increase on 2016.

This survey has been carried out regularly since 2010, following the same recognition criteria.   For the survey carried out in spring 2017 among companies at the Izarbel Technology Park as of 31 December 2016, the participation rate is 95%. On 31 December 2016, Izarbel hosted 106 companies, compared to 114 in 2016.

In all, 1,056.6 full-time equivalent jobs were registered in 2017, a 4% increase on 2016.  Among the companies surveyed, 66 full-time equivalent jobs were created in 2017, compared to 59 in 2016.  Recruitment prospects remain optimistic in 2018 with an estimated 90 additional jobs, compared to 80 in 2017.

With 2,016 people present against 1,864 in 2016, the technology park has achieved a record.  This increase of 8% can be explained in part by the growth in the number of learners at the ESTIA engineering school (850 in 2017, compared to 750 in 2016).
