The call for initiatives in Collaborative Excellence Research 2024 is open
The Communauté Pays Basque is repeating its support for research with the Call for Initiatives in Collaborative Excellence Research 2024. A total of €2,250,000 is available over five years.
The Call for Initiatives in Collaborative Excellence Research 2024, launched by the Communauté Pays Basque, aims to provide support for research. A total amount of €2,250,000 is available over 5 years, enabling recognised research laboratories established in the region to gain recognition and visibility on the international stage, by setting up collaborative, structuring and multi-annual projects.
Some of the funding for these projects involves several sources (ANR, Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, European funds, businesses, associations, etc.) enabling the cost to be borne and making it possible to reinforce the potential of researchers in areas of excellence, while closely focussing on the local area.
Principles and criteria of the call for projects:
° Support for:
- collaborative research projects (LabCom, research chairs, etc.) involving at least two partners (academic and/or socio-economic),
- hosting new research subjects to enable researchers to establish themselves in the region.
° Support for projects principally around:
- the four priority areas of excellence in the University Development Scheme: International Studies, Engineering and Digital, Sustainable Construction and Planning, and Environment and Ocean,
- two emerging areas: Agriculture and Agribusiness Industry and Sport/Health.
Financing from the conurbation will provide support for:
- young researchers: doctoral and post-doctoral,
- research staff entirely devoted to the project: research engineer or design engineer,
- research activities: organisation of conferences, seminars and workshops; hosting of interns; small scientific events; promoting research. The ratio of funding for this area of activity may not exceed 10% of the amount requested.
Multi-disciplinary projects that involve collaboration between different laboratories are particularly welcome.
Practical information
The application dossier must be returned before 3 December 2023 to the Direction Enseignement Supérieur et Recherche (Directorate of Higher Education and Research) of the Communauté d’Agglomération Pays Basque.

L’Appel à Initiatives de Recherche Collaborative d’Excellence 2024 lancé par la Communauté Pays Basque vise à soutenir la recherche. Doté d’une enveloppe de 2 250 000 € sur 5 ans, il permet aux laboratoires de recherche reconnus et installés sur le territoire de gagner en reconnaissance et visibilité à l’échelle internationale, en mettant en place des projets collaboratifs, structurants et pluriannuels.
Une partie du financement de ces projets faisant intervenir plusieurs financeurs (ANR, Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine, fonds européens, entreprises, associations…) peut être pris en charge, permettant de renforcer le potentiel de chercheurs sur des domaines d’excellence tout en donnant une réelle spécificité au territoire.
Principes et critères de lappel à projets :
° Soutien à :
- des projets de recherche collaboratifs (LabCom, chaires, etc.) impliquant a minima deux partenaires (académique et/ou socio-économique),
- l’accueil de nouvelles thématiques de recherche permettant l’implantation de chercheurs sur le territoire.
° Accompagnement de projets principalement autour :
- des quatre domaines prioritaires d’excellence du Schéma de Développement Universitaire : Etudes internationales, Ingénierie et Numérique, Construction et Aménagement Durables, et Environnement et Océan,
- des deux domaines en émergence : Agriculture et Industrie agroalimentaire et Sport/Santé.
Le financement de la Communauté d’agglomération permet l’accompagnement de :
- jeunes chercheurs : doctorants et post-doctorants,
- personnels de recherche entièrement dédié au projet : ingénieur de recherche ou ingénieur d’étude,
- activités de recherche : organisation de colloques, séminaires ou workshop ; accueil de stagiaire ; petits équipements scientifiques ; valorisation de la recherche. La part de financement sur cet axe d’intervention ne pourra excéder 10% du montant sollicité.
Les projets multidisciplinaires faisant intervenir des collaborations entre différents laboratoires sont encouragés.
Pratique
Le dossier de candidature est à remettre avant le 3 décembre 2023 à la Direction Enseignement Supérieur et Recherche de la Communauté d’Agglomération Pays Basque.
