A car-sharing app especially for the Pays Basque

The transport union of the Communauté Pays Basque has launched Txik Txak Kovoit', an app that puts drivers and passengers in contact for regular car-sharing. 

Available on Apple Store, Google Play and on the web, the Txik Txak Kovoit' app lets you search for and programme regular car-sharing over a week, a month or longer. The app also enables communities to be created by type of business, company or educational establishment to make it easier to use car-sharing. 

Thanks to a system of real-time geo-location for drivers, Txik Txak Kovoit' also lets you find a car to share at the last minute. The cost suggested by the platform is calculated on the basis of € 0.10 per kilometre and per person. The driver cannot make a profit from their journey or receive financial compensation greater than that specified in the fiscal regime currently in force (€ 0.50).

In the Pays Basque, 77% of home-work journeys are made alone and by car, and 83% of workers use their car to go to work. That is why the Syndicat des Mobilités (Transport Union) Pays Basque – Adour has designed this practical, ecological and financially advantageous solution, which has now been operating for several weeks.
